Call for Presentations
The HIMSS South Carolina Chapter is seeking presenters and student abstract poster submissions for the upcoming 2022 Fall Conference in Myrtle Beach, themed “Here Comes the Sun.” The event date is September 13. We encourage you to consider speaking and submit an outline presentation for consideration (outline requirements are listed below). For students, please consider submitting a poster of a case study that has been done to identify and solve a problem facing the industry today. These are exceptional opportunities to share your experience, knowledge, and best practices.
We are always seeking presentations and abstracts that are relevant to the current and ever-changing issues within the healthcare industry, as well as tools to help us add value to our organizations and improve our overall work – life balance.

- Complimentary registration to attend the Conference (if a live presentation).
Selection Process: The Curriculum committee will review all proposals. Selection criteria will differ based upon the format of the presentation – Multi-Day Institutes, One Day Meetings, or webinars.
Speaker and Presentation Information:
- Applicants presenting with a provider client will be given priority consideration.
- Speaking engagements are an opportunity to share knowledge with SC HIMSS members and are not to be used to promote personal products or services.
- If your presentation appears to be promotional rather than educational, you will be asked to eliminate all sales-oriented material.
- It is appropriate to list presenter’s name and company name on the introductory slide and contact information on the final slide.
- For student poster submissions it is acceptable to include your name and academic institution with your institution’s permission.
- All presentations will be made available electronically to attendees upon request. Presentations must be provided to the SC HIMSS Education Chair for review and distribution.
- Student posters will be displayed during the conference.
- Copies of handouts will not be distributed at the conference (if applicable) unless special arrangements are made in advance.
- Spouse or guests that attend any of the events will require a separate payment pursuant to the guest rate for the conference (if applicable).
- The presentation submission due date has been extended to Wednesday August 31, 2022.
