2014 Scholarships Awarded

Thanks to all of you who took the time to investigate this opportunity and to apply.  We had a large number of applicants this year from many fine programs, and we are pleased to announce this years’ two Scholarship recipients:

  • Jackie Cox is currently a graduate student at the University of South Carolina working on a Masters in Health Information Technology .  While pursuing this degree, she is working full time at Self Regional Healthcare as a Clinical Systems Analyst in their Clinical Informatics department, with prior experience there as an ICU nurse.
  • Lynn Ethridge is currently in the MBA program at New England College with a major in Health Informatics. She is also working full time while pursuing her degree, as a clinical pharmacist at Greenville Health Systems, in a role with a decidedly HIT flavor that has included the development of both CPOE and medical administration systems for GHS.

Both award recipients will continue to help us expand the programs of the Chapter in support of meaningful content and programming for our student members, as well as in continuing to build the Scholarship program.  Both have already begun to work with the Board in this effort and in other areas of the Chapter.

Thanks to last year’s winner, Mitchell Plyer, for his terrific efforts on behalf of the chapter, and for helping the Chapter greatly improve the reach of the scholarship program.
